Set your company up

Half an hour here saves a question on every collection you ever request. In this guide we fill in the company profile, the defaults every request starts from, the sites you collect at, and your own lab and MRO, then check the subscription.

Steps 1 to 3

Fill in the General tab

Start on Team Information. The first tab holds the things you set once and rarely touch again. Save changes at the top applies everything on the tab, so you can work down it and save at the end.

Team Information → General → Profile · Collection defaults · Company contact

Enter your profile and brand colour

Your company name and an optional description, then the brand colour and text colour that tint the menu for everyone on your team. This is what your people see when they sign in.

Choose your collection defaults

Pick a default test type and drug panel and they are chosen for you every time a collection is requested, and can still be changed on the request. Default collection notes go to the collector on every request: where to park, who to ask for.

Add your company contact

The person to ask for, the address for correspondence and billing, and a business number. This one is a contact number rather than one that receives texts, so a land line is fine. The switch underneath turns collection texts on or off for the whole team.

Steps 4 and 5

Set up your links and sites

Next, two tabs that save typing later: a registration link per group, and the places you actually collect at.

Links → group registration links · Sites → add a site

Each of your groups has a link that signs a new person straight into it. Hand the DOT link to your drivers and the Non-DOT link to everyone else, and the roster builds itself without you adding anybody by hand.

A site is a place you usually test at: a depot, a plant, a yard. Give it a name and address and a request starts there with the map pin already dropped. The star makes one the default. Roadside and one-off collections still work without a site.

Steps 6 and 7

Name your lab and check billing

Last, who processes your tests and who reviews the results, then a look at the subscription.

Lab, MRO & DER → Billing

What does the Medical Review Officer actually do?
The MRO is a doctor who reviews a non-negative result and speaks to the donor before it is reported, in case there is a legitimate medical explanation such as a prescription.
Why does the lab account number matter?
It tells the laboratory whose account to bill and report against. Entering your DOT and Non-DOT numbers here means the right one is picked from the test type, instead of a collector writing it on the paperwork by hand.

Use the READI Collect defaults, or switch to your own and enter the lab name, your DOT and Non-DOT account numbers, and the MRO name and phone. The right account number is then picked from the test type, so collectors stop writing it on the paperwork. Below that, name your Designated Employer Representative.

The account is set up. Topic 5 is the one you will come back to most: requesting a collection, start to finish.
