If your company has put you on its testing roster, you can raise a collection for yourself and follow it to the result without going through your manager. In this guide we do exactly that, from signing in to reading the result.
Step 1
You sign in to a smaller version of the same site your manager uses.
Dashboard → My Requests
The badge top right reads Subscriber, and the menu is short: no team, no billing, nobody else's collections. The two request cards work as they do for a manager, and My Requests lists what you have raised. The first time in, you may be asked for your date of birth, because the laboratory needs it on the paperwork.
Steps 2 to 4
Click Request a Collection. It is the same form your manager fills in, with the first question already answered for you.
Request a Collection → Reason → Test type → Address
Where a manager picks somebody from the roster, you get a box with your own name and "(you)". There is nothing to choose and nothing to get wrong, so move straight on. Topic 5, Request a collection, covers every question below in full.
Test type offers only what your group allows, so a driver on the DOT roster sees the DOT tests and nothing that could never apply. Your company default panel is filled in already. Choose Post-Accident and the five FMCSA questions appear here too.
Leave Schedule blank and it goes out now. For Address, pick one of your company sites, type where you are, or drag the pin if you are at the roadside with no address to give. Check the collector count under the map, then click Request collection.
Steps 5 to 8
Now open it from My Requests and watch it happen. You see the whole record, you just cannot change it.
My Requests → your collection
You get the same record a manager sees, with Creator and Donor both showing you: the reason, the panel and what it screens for, whether the collector is bringing materials, and the location. Download gives you the whole thing as a PDF.
The map shows where the collector was sent, and the Collectors section names the one who accepted, how far out they were and when they expected to arrive. That is the answer to "is anybody actually on the way", without ringing your manager.
Notes are what the collector and your company recorded on the day. Results and Forms holds the outcome: the chain of custody paperwork and the laboratory result once it is back. Your results are visible to you, your company managers, and the people your company authorised to receive them.
The whole story with a timestamp against every step: raised, collectors invited, accepted, arrived, each form completed, and finally completed. After an accident this is also the proof that somebody was there inside the window the rules allow.
That is everything a team member needs. If you also perform collections, Topic 8 covers joining the collector network.
